YouTube Monetization Calculator
See exactly how close you are to the YouTube Partner Program, 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 watch hours (or 10M Shorts views). Add your weekly growth for an ETA.
Numeric thresholds only. You also need to live in an eligible country, turn on 2-Step Verification, have no active Community Guidelines strikes, and link AdSense. ETA assumes steady growth.
YouTube Partner Program requirements (2024+)
To earn ad revenue on YouTube you must be accepted into the YouTube Partner Program (YPP). The headline numeric bar is:
- 1,000 subscribers, and
- 4,000 valid public watch hours in the past 12 months, or
- 10 million valid public Shorts views in the past 90 days.
You only need to clear one of the watch-hours or Shorts paths, whichever you hit first. This calculator tracks the path you select alongside your subscriber count.
What counts (and what doesn't)
- Valid public watch time and views only, private, unlisted, and deleted videos don't count.
- Watch time from ads or from cleared/removed content doesn't count.
- The 4,000 hours is a rolling 365-day window; the 10M Shorts views is a rolling 90-day window. Old watch time can age out.
Is there an early-access tier?
Yes. At 500 subscribers, plus 3 public uploads in the last 90 days and either 3,000 watch hours or 3 million Shorts views, you can unlock fan-funding features (channel memberships, Super Thanks, Super Chat) in eligible countries, but not ad revenue. Ad revenue still requires the full 1,000-subscriber threshold above.
